It has advantages and disadvantages over my old Wahl. Hitachi is more powerful, true, but Wahl had great pinpoint accuracy that I miss, and was much quieter.

Different strokes, I guess. I'll probably eventually replace the Wahl, too, 'cause variety is nice.

I am going to be heartbroken the day my Hitachi gives up the ghost. That poor old thing. It's had its head ripped off repeatedly, been thrown at the cat (Accident! ACCI-DENT!) . . . it's a rough life.

At least the prices on them have gone down considerably. I remember when they used to be some insane $80, and now they are about half that on ebay, which is where I got mine (new, of course.) They are far more replaceable and far less of an investment than they used to be. Now a Sybian on the other hand....*drools, and not from my mouth*
